Future Me

Dear Future Me,
Well, we did it.
Here I am at college and about to start classes in a week.
At this very second, I'm sooo grateful for many things in my life.
-bright room
-K&B helping me get down here
-parentals helping with literally everything
-my sisters
-ice cream
-disney channel (for the laughs)
-this free time to reflect & ponder
-music
-memories & relationships
Also, I keep seeing this photo everywhere.
And I relate.

Precious and Sweet

It takes a long time to grow an old friend.
This topic is really personal to me because I have always relied on my friends for support and confidence. But my senior year of high school, I had no close friends. I realized the benefits of having a close friend and partner in crime. Another thing I realized is that time changes you.
People move on.
Things change.
Love can fade.
Best friends can become sweet memories of the past.
Appreciate the moments!! You never know when they will be swept away from you.
Hold a true friend with both hands.
And hang on tight.

"But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine."

"Praise the bridge that carried you over"

grat·i·tude

[grat-i-tood, -tyood] –nounthe quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful: He expressed his gratitude to everyone on the staff.How often do we realize all the many blessings in life that God has given us?I sure don't! Throughout the entire day, how much is spent in gratitude?Realizing that my heart is most thankful near turkey cutting day has been dis-heartening.In light of my soon to be given talk in church, I would like to express my appreciativeness!
  • Sunshine, I am SO grateful for the light it shares to our world.
  • Music! The number one thing that brings me to tears and I love it
  • Family. You know every flaw, yet its okay. You love them no matter what and when you die and go to Heaven, who do you want by your side? I want my sisters.
  • Photography! To be able to self-express what I'm seeing... it just brings joy!
  • Reading. I'm grateful for being able to read and learn. I LOVE books.
  • Religion. I would be no where without my love of the gospel and knowledge of the plan of salvation. I know God is always watching over me.
  • Holiday! To celebrate what life is truly about, the good times!
  • School. Yes. As much as it pains me to admit it, I am going to miss high school. You automatically feel safe in high school. I know where I stand with everyone, I know the system, and I'm appreciated. Sure... I want to be done with it. But on the other hand... I'm terrified for the future. But I am grateful for the past. and present.
  • Last but not least! I am grateful for....myself. I know that can sound a tad strange but i've been really thinking about it. Without my personality, I would be a walking zombie with no purpose in life. I always seem to see only my flaws. But at the beginning of the day...when I walk out the door...I'm happy to know that my outfit matches, my teeth are brushed and my hair is curled. I am who I am. And I love me.
What are you grateful for? Just think about it..

Senioritis

Dear World,
Guess What?!?!?!?
I'm a senior.
and graduation is cooommminnngg....
May 25th is my last day of high school.
These are some of my favorite senior pictures.
I suggest that everyone should get professional pictures taken of themselves.
At least once in their lifetime.
"Only Socrates knew, after a lifetime of unceasing labor, that he was ignorant. Now every high-school student knows that. How did it become so easy?"
-Allan Bloom
I don't have much to say about these.
Just that I like love ADORE them.
Ashley, YOU ARE AMAZING.
Gracias for the pictures!! woot woot
The above picture is my favorite.
I love photgraphy.
I definitely have Senioritis.
uggh.

You gotta walk before you can dance!

i'm thinking they invented Prom just for the benefit of the girls
We get to dress up like princesses, dance the night away and go to sleep smiling
this year i was able to go to my SENIOR PROM.
i wasn't planning on it, but now that i've gone and been back...i'm glad i went!
I went with a friend of a friend, Caleb aka KK
He was a perfect gentleman and I loved every minute of the night
except for the part where we were confessing our true humor and sadly.. mine is morbidity!
sad, i know. BUT just SO funny!
He just wouldn't let that one gooooooo.
so for the rest of the night, i accused him of trying to kill me.
Right when the jazz band ended a song he leaned over to tell me:
"believe me, if i had been trying to kill you, i would of done it by now!"
while everything was silent.
it was probably the best moment all night!
AlSO..the other great part was.. CALEB knows how to dance!
We Cha'cha-ed, we salsa-ed, waltzed, polka and more!
I dont have any pictures with Caleb, we took some at the dance but it wasn't really important to me
my family has been there for me with all my UPS and DOWNS..
and it meant more to take pictures with them.
My mom even helped me with my dress and getting ready.
The night was good and i'm glad i went.
but i'm also super glad it's over, so that i can concentrate on graduation!
woot woot
Here are some great quotes that were exactly how I felt.
"When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor.
It's to enjoy each step along the way."
Isn't that beautiful!
Well I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
I know i did.

Ecstatic Part2

I don't think I did my last post justice.
NOTHING has ever been this.. fulfilling in my entire life.
A dream has actually COME TRUE.
My whole life I have spent being stressed, overwhelmed and OCD about my grades.
And it has paid off!
The funniest part is.. I never believed that it actually WOULD pay off.
If I could only describe my feelings of enthusiasm. of complete JOY.
Gratitude is surrounding my entire being because god cares about me.
He knew EXACTLY what I needed, what I wanted and here it is.
I'm crying from .. complete happiness. No words can even come close to how I feel.
I am accepted to Southern Virgina University.
Yeah, you heard that right. ME. KELSEY ANNE.
It's 1:00 in the morning and I'm grinning from the inside out.
My cheeks hurt.
Because I am amazing and can do anything I put my mind to, with god's help.
THANK YOU.
